JOIN THE WAR ON WASTE: FREE WORKSHOP AND SCREENING
Canterbury-Bankstown City has joined the War on Waste, and is hosting a food waste workshop and special screening of the latest episode of the ABC’s popular television series.
The free workshop and screening will be held from 6-8pm on Tuesday 29 August at the Belmore Senior Citizens’ Centre.
Hosted by Jo Taranto, from sustainability community advocacy group Good for the Hood, the workshop will empower you with practical ways to reduce your food waste.
The workshop will also feature innovative treats by a low-waste caterer.
Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said ABC’s War on Waste series focuses on the impact of and solutions to material waste in Australia. And this event is the perfect way for people to start looking at what changes they can make in their own homes.
“You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who are passionate about fighting food waste,” Mayor El-Hayek said.
“Don’t miss out on this chance to make a positive impact on the environment and your community.
“Together, we can make a difference in the war against food waste!”
