MAYOR WELCOMES LAUNCH OF LIVERPOOL INNOVATION PRECINCT PROSPECTUS

Liverpool mayor Ned Mannoun has welcomed the launch of the Liverpool Innovation Precinct prospectus.

The Liverpool Innovation Precinct is a unique partnership of 10 major stakeholders in the City of Liverpool who have come together to advocate for and support public and private sector investment in the LGA.

Launched by NSW Treasurer, the Hon Daniel Mookhey MLC, the Investment Prospectus will showcase Liverpool’s capabilities in health, education, research, and innovation.

Mayor Mannoun said the prospectus sets out a strong case for the private sector to invest in Liverpool by leveraging the $790 million public investment by the NSW Government in the redevelopment of the Liverpool Hospital.

“With a strong existing presence of health and education, manufacturing and knowledge intensive jobs, the diverse demographics of the local population presents an opportunity for translational research and trials,” the mayor said.

“Liverpool is already Sydney’s third CBD and home to significant economic activity and is one of the fastest growing regions in Sydney.”

“With Sydney’s new international airport (Nancy Bird Walton) opening in a few years, Liverpool will attract thousands of visitors and new businesses that will turn Liverpool into the economic engine room of the south-west.”

The government recognises Liverpool’s booming future and that’s why they’ve given us more than $155 million for projects that include public swimming pools, beautification of local parks and road upgrades.”
