Local families won’t have to break the budget when it comes to keeping kids entertained these school holidays, with City of Canterbury Bankstown’s action-packed program of free and low-cost activities.
Laser tag clinics, skateboarding sessions and a Hogwarts wizarding challenge are just some of the free activities on offer for kids aged 5-18 years in Council’s autumn school holiday program.
Dungeons and Dragons’ afternoons, writing workshops, creative clay classes and wildlife shows are also available for free, with all activities running from 15-26 April.
And for a low cost, kids can finesse their football skills with the Western Sydney Wanderers, learn to make Aboriginal bush foods in a cooking workshop or embark on an adventure to Taronga Zoo.
Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said Council has parents and children sorted for the upcoming school holidays.
“As a father of four myself, I know how tough it can be to come up with new ideas to keep the kids occupied,” Mayor El-Hayek said.
“That’s why we have a huge range of activities, suited to kids with all interests.
“We know local families are feeling the pinch from increasing living costs and we aim to keep our activities within reach of the family budget.
“I encourage all parents to take a look at the website and book their kids in quick as spots fill up fast.”
The school holiday activities are bought to you by Active Canterbury-Bankstown, Bankstown Arts Centre, Belmore Youth Resource Centre, Canterbury-Bankstown Library and Knowledge Centres and Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre.
Birrong, Max Parker and Roselands Leisure & Aquatic Centres are also hosting the popular school holiday intensive program, which provides affordable lessons to improve swimming skills quickly.
