TODD MCKENNEY TAPS HIS WAY INTO CANTEBRURY-BANKSTOWN

Students from Canterbury-Bankstown’s Talent Advancement Program (TAP) are learning from the finest in the field, with a visit from one of Australia’s most acclaimed performing artists, Todd McKenney.
The Dancing with the Stars judge waltzed into Bryan Brown Theatre ahead of the show’s twentieth season this weekend, to meet Council’s TAP students and give them an insider’s view into the entertainment industry.
Dozens of aspiring young artists had the opportunity to ask McKenney their burning questions about how he landed his major roles, how to get noticed at auditions and how to deal with criticism.
McKenney was able to provide the students with some important lessons about overcoming nerves, taking care of yourself, turning up and working hard.
Some of the students also had the opportunity to wow McKenney with performances of their own, leaving him impressed by the young talent on offer in Canterbury-Bankstown.
“If this is the future of theatre, we’re in really great hands!” McKenney said.
“Hopefully from talking to me, someone who has been in the business for so long, they can get an insider’s view in how it works and hopefully I’ve inspired them to follow their dreams.
